On November 6, 2021, Captain Steve DesRuisseaux of the Manchester NH Fire Department received 3rd degree burns over 40% of his body while trying to rescue residents trapped in a multifamily building. DesRuisseaux was overcome with flames during a flashover, and a breathing device got caught on a ladder, trapping him as he dove out the window to escape the blaze. It was determined at a local hospital that second- and third-degree burns covered about 40% of his body. He was then flown to Mass General and is currently in recovery while being treated for his injuries. Capt. DeRuisseaux and his wife, Colleen have been married for 24 years. They have two children, Megan age 19 and Jack age 17.
“The actions of the crews last night went above and beyond the call of duty, and Captain DesRuisseaux’s efforts were nothing short of heroic. Captain DesRuisseaux’s actions led to the rescue of six people and is a true testament to Steve’s professionalism,” Battalion Chief Dave Flurey said in a statement.
We will be holding a fundraiser for Capt. Steve DesRuisseaux and matching all donations up to $10,000.
Please consider making a donation and supporting the DesRuisseaux Family in their time of need.

The Giardini Family of Mendon, MA tragically lost their daughter Jenna Louise Giardini in a car accident on June 30, 2021.
Jenna was born in Framingham, August 19, 2003, the loving daughter of John and Tami (Harris) Giardini of Mendon. Jenna had been a lifelong Mendon resident. Jenna just recently graduated from Nipmuc Regional High School and was planning on attending the University of Massachusetts, Boston in the Fall. She was planning on entering the nursing program and had aspirations of working in the oncology department after watching her grandfather battle with cancer. She was a sweet, caring person who had a true desire to help others.
She was also passionate about cheerleading. She started her cheer career at the age of 6 and loved every minute of it. She was a dedicated leader and her teammates meant the world to her. Her family was incredibly proud that she was named captain the past two years in a row.
Jenna was spunky and sparkly like her mom. You could always count on her for fashion advice, make-up tips – she wanted to help everyone look and feel fabulous. Like her father, Jenna shared a love for cars, especially her father’s Challenger Shaker RT. Jenna and her dad also shared a special bond with their taste in music. One of her favorite experiences was going to the Motley Crue concert with her father.
Not only was Jenna gorgeous on the outside, she was beautiful inside. She touched so many hearts and made friends wherever she went. She always rooted for the underdog. Her smile would melt your heart. She will be so deeply missed by many.
Please help us support the Giardini Family during their time of need. 100% off all donations will go directly to the family and The Greg Hill Foundation will be matching all donations up to $2,500.
