Tim O’Connell is the founder of Tommy’s Place (tommysplace.org), named after Tommy Leonard, the founder of the Falmouth Road Race and created in honor of Grifyn Sawyer. Through years of hard work and dedication, Tim raised funds, found locations, and constructed 2 amazing homes on Cape Cod for families who have a child battling cancer to use for FREE for a one week vacation to get away from the rigors of battling cancer.
Since opening in Falmouth in July of 2021, and in Centerville in June of 2023, over 200 families have vacationed at one of the Tommy’s Place homes! In 2024, Tommy’s Place will begin to offer magical vacations to 104 families per year at its two vacation homes.
On Tuesday, August 27th, Chick-fil-A and The Greg Hill Foundation will honor Tim O’Connell as a Community Hero with a Chick-fil-A prize pack including Chick-fil-A for one year and $2,000 to Tommy’s Place which covers the cost of one week of a family’s stay.
The Greg Hill Foundation responds to immediate requests for assistance, to improve the lives of local families touched by tragedy, through matching the charitable donation of Greg’s media audience.
